Skryne Tara1-3 Borora Juniors

Borora Juniors u16 travelled to Skryne on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning in hopes of a second win in the week.

The visitors settled well and began to create some good chances. Skryne we’re playing just as well and the game was entertaining the crowd as both teams pushed for the opening goal.

After forcing a corner Caoimhín Cussen took a quick corner to Jack Shalvey who lifted a superb pass onto the inrushing Sean Behan to put the visitors ahead. Concerted Borora pressure from Diarmuid O’Malley forced another corner. Cussen floated it in and it was headed back out to Dean Williams who headed it back to Cussen who took aim with a fabulous volley which flew into the bottom left corner past the keeper before he had any time to react. 0-2 to Borora at halftime.

The first ten minutes of the second half were all played in Skryne’s half as Borora dominated possession with the defence to the fore with Daniel Stafford, Adam O’Brien, Dovydas Glasses and Mikey Smith keeping the home team at bay.

Out of nowhere Skryne got a goal as the keeper Leo Fitzgerald spilled a shot and the striker reacted smartly to pinch a goal. 1-2 .

Skryne , lifted by the goal tried in vain to get the equaliser as Borora pushes them back and after some intricate play fro Luke Quinn, O’Malley and Shalvey laid on a tap in for Eanna Bennett who took his tally to ten this season so far. All in all a fantastic performance by the entire squad which keeps their league hopes alive
