A fine spring morning in the grounds of Castle Villa was the back drop for an intense game of soccer for our under 14's who faced off against the travelling Duleek side.
Duleek were quick off the mark and netted a great opener as the home lads were quickly jolted into life. It took some time for the lads, who are welcoming some new faces, to get to grips with the game but once they did it was obvious to all gathered, that both teams wanted this win.
The equaliser came from a well taken free and a lovely set play ended up with the ball in the net.

The second half started as the first half finished- both teams pushing hard to get the ball up for scoring chances. An opportunity arose and the home lads were quick to take advantage with a fantastic shot, and another goal for the home side.
This only served to spur on Duleek who were ruthless in their defence and man marking.
Borora kept pushing and just when we thought it was all over, a great pass into space made for a wonderful third goal for the boys in blue and yellow.
A tetchy end to the game when tempers flared. But the boys, supported by coaches, made their way off the pitch to avoid any further issues.
All in all a wonderful way to spend a lovely bright spring morning.
The Borora lads will be happy with their game with some fine displays of skill on show and wonderful team effort and support from all the lads.
