Borora Juniors 3-0 Parkceltic Summerhill
Borora Juniors u16 welcomed ParkCeltic Summerhill to Moynalty on a warm and sunny Tuesday evening after the fixture was moved from Saturday due to clashes.
The hosts started well and began to dominate the midfield area with Sean Behan , Dean Williams and Jack Shalvey using the ball creatively. Eoin Gilsenan and Caoimhín Cussen we’re putting the defence under extreme pressure on the wing’s putting in dangerous crosses to Diarmuid O’Malley and Èanna Bennett . The visitors keeper was extremely sharp and busy in the opening half. After several good chances Borora forced a corner from which Cussen put in a perfect cross onto Gilsenan’s head to put Borora 1-0 up . The visitors then pressed on and David Daly pulled off some superb saves to keep the home team ahead going into halftime.

The second half started well for Borora with Leo Fitzgerald going in between the sticks and keeping the score down.
Daniel Staffed, Adam O’Brien and Mikey Smith were strong in defence and used the ball intelligently to move it out to the midfield. After several good attacks Eoin Gilsenan went on a slalom run taking three defenders with him until he was taken down in the box , penalty to Borora. Up stepped Bennett to smash home the spot kick for a 2-0 lead. Try as they might ParkCeltic could not get back into the tie with the Borora subs Dovidas Glasses, Keelan Sheridan. Darragh Rock, David Daly outfield, and Ross Blair coming off the bench to solidify the home defence. Smart passing and clever runs led to Rock havin an easy tap in goal to give the hosts the clear advantage. The visitors never stopped trying and hit the crossbar late on . Borora held on for a well deserved 3-0 win to push them up the table.
