1st Half:
In a game where the home side dominated the game against their 10 man opposition, it was Borora who created a number of early chances to take the lead. However, Borora had to come from behind in their efforts if they were to take 3 points from the game. Despite some early pressure from the home side it was the visitors who took the lead after 3 minutes from a spot kick. Following a breakaway attach. Newtown player was forced wide of the borora goal from Goalkeeper Leo Fitzgerald but an innocent collision gave the referee no option but to aware the spot kick. Newtown united player expertly placed the ball to Leos right having sent the Borora shot stopper the wrong way. 0-1 to the away side!. Borora did press Newtown back straight away in their efforts to get back into the game and were awarded a penalty just 5 minutes later for a handball within the 18 yard box. Kevin Fitzpatrick stepped up to take the spot kick but hit the ball off the outside of the left hand post of the goalkeepers goal. Quite a number of chances were created by Borora with stand in striker Jack Moore unable to beat the last man in defence for Newtown who was in inspired form. Despite all the pressure from the home team it was the visitors who went in at half time in the lead.
Half Time: Borora Juniors 0 - 1 Newtown United

2nd Half:
The introduction of Midfielder Thomas Whelan and forward Joseph McGarry meant that Borora kept up the pressure on the visitors. This was rewarded just a mere 7 minutes into the second half when Defender Oisin Sheridan rifled in a free kick from all of 25 yards. While the keeper did get a fingertip to the ball, the power of the shot meant that it was always going to hit the back of the net. Oisin had a further opportunity to extend his goal tally for the season with another free kick closer to the goal but despite a well placed shot on target, Newtown United goalkeeper saved the shot well. Continuous pressure from the home side was rewarded just 15 minutes before the final whistle when a perfectly delivered corner from Jack Moore was delivered onto the goalkeeper and despite a GK touch onto the crossbar the ball managed to fall back into play on the back post where the Newtown United defender inadvertently put the ball into the back of his own net. 2 - 1 to the home side. Despite further chances created by the home side to add to their goal difference, there was ultimately no further goals scored in the game. Great turn around by the home side to take all 3 points in Moynalty.
Excellent contribution and performances from Kevin Fitzpatrick, Jack Moore, Dovydas Glasas, Oisin Sheridan & Liam Brady.
