Castle Villa senior side got back to winning ways in some style on Friday evening in Drogheda, playing against Grove Rangers.
But it didnt exactly start the way we wanted! After starting the game strongly, keeping good possession of the ball and creating a few chances, Grove Rangers unexpectedly took the lead after Castle Villa couldn't clear the ball. But the response was terriffic.
Within minutes Castle Villa were level after some good work down the wing and determination from Patrick Chetan looped the ball over the home 'keeper and into the back of the net. Chetan got a 2nd soon after and next up was Ken Edeh, who put in another fine performance, scoring a hat-trick in what was to be the 1st of 2 in the game, as Patrick Chetan also got a 3rd goal in the 2nd half from the penalty spot to secure his.
Castle Villa were able to make several changes in the 2nd half. Ray and Ben got a goal each to finish off a fine team performance.
Hopefully this is the turning point the team needed.
