Div 4B Senior: CastleVilla 1-1 Robinstown
Castle Villa's senior team played out an enjoyable 1-1 draw in their first league game of the season. Only a few minutes into the game, Barry Nevin got injured and had to go off meaning an early change was enforced upon them. It took the home side about 10 minutes to settle into the game after that, but once they did, some good offensive and defensive work helped the team create some good chances, with a superb volley from Patrick Chetan being saved by the visiting goalkeeper. Castle Villa were unlucky to come in at half time all square.
The 2nd half started pretty much as the first half ended, with Castle Villa in the ascendancy and creating more chances, with some fine crosses coming in from Brian Lynch on the right wing. The breakthrough finally game from a Patrick Chetan goal, who nipped the ball past the oncoming keeper into the net. Robinstown made some substitutions, to try get back into the game. They finally did after winning a free kick just outside the Castle Villa box, and scoring directly from it. Castle Villa made some more changes themselves, which almost paid off too after substitute Kyle Finnegan almost latched onto a fine ball whipped across the visitors 6 yard box, but he was only inches away from putting it into the net. It finished all square in the end, but Castle Villa felt they should have taken the 3 points.
Ken Edeh put in a man of the match performance, showing great energy all over the pitch, winning tackle after tackle and playing some great football in the midfield.

Drogheda rallied and levelled soon after .
Both sides went for it and Shane Bennett got Borora's second after a good save ,then Jack Shalvey’s goal bound effort was knocked into his own net by a defender.

U15 div 3: Borora Juniors 0 - 3 Drogheda Town
1st Half:
A competitive game from the outset saw plenty of tough tackles and accurate passing from both teams throughout. Both sides had chances to take the lead early on but it was the visitors who did take the lead through a well placed corner into the box before an attacker got to the ball before stand-in goalkeeper Matthew Morris to head the visitors into the lead on 10 minutes. A competitive game continued from end to end until Drogheda took control and went 2-0 up. Despite a clearance from Matthew Morris outfield the ball came came straight back over all players in the box to the top right hand corner, great finish!
Outstanding performances from Oisin Sheridan & Keelan Sheridan (C) in midfield saw both chances created for the home side and gritty defending too when under pressure.
Half Time: Borora Juniors 0 - 2 Drogheda Town
2nd Half:
A more determined and pressing performance from the home team in the second half saw Borora come close on a number of occasions but final touch and finish escaped the quality finish to bring the home side back into the game. Ultimately it was a deflected shot with 5 minutes to go that gave goalkeeper Leo Fitzgerald little chance to prevent the third goal and allow Borora back into the game. Overall deserved 3 points for the visitors at the final whistle.
Excellent contribution and performances from Leo Fitzgerald, Keelan Sheridan & Oisin Sheridan.

Division 2 Under 13: Borora Juniors 3 - 2 Enfield Celtic AFC
A 3 - 2 win for Borora Juniors puts them in a good position in the league. A terrific defensive display followed by ruthless attacking, great skill, and commanding performances in midfield saw this tightly contested match ebb and flow for 70 minutes. It was a sucker punch in the dying minutes that proved to be the fatal blow by Borora Juniors. Niall Rogan scored a brace from two assists from Gilsenan and Tyler Ambell the third with a fabulous half volley from a Rogan corner. Impressive play from Halpenny, Sheridan, Traynor, Ambell and Gilsenan.

A superb defensive display ensured Borora Juniors got their first home win of the season. An early goal from Bobby Kavanagh settled the nerves. More goals could and should have come and the home team were holding on at the end. James McCabe was solid in goal while Daniel White and Logan Wilson were the standout performers for the unbeaten U12s whi sut at the top of the table, for now.
