U15 Division 2 Borora Juniors 5-2 Duleek AFC

Borora Juniors hosted Duleek AFC for their Division 2 fixture on another warm Sunday afternoon. The away side began brighter as Borora looked to settle after a demoralising defeat midweek with Duleek probing without troubling the Kavanagh goal, a couple of snapshots easily dealt with by the home keeper.
Borora started to get a foothold and after 10 minutes, started to control the game with the comfortable pairing of Delaney and McGovern dominating the battle in midfield.
The home side always looked dangerous and were rewarded just after the water break when some high pressing by Gilsenan won the ball from the Duleek full back before he dartedin field and scuffed a shot on goal which was cleared by the desperate centre back, but it fell again to Gilsenan who fired again and this time the defender couldn’t stop the ball from crossing the line. A deserved 1-0 lead for the home side.
Borora should have doubled their lead on the stroke of half time only for the impressive Rogan to skew wide after a blistering turn of pace caught the home defence off guard.
The ref blew for half time with the home side looking comfortable at 1-0.
The second half began with Duleek pushing for the equaliser and were rewarded after 10 minutes when the home defence were left watching when the forward broke down the left and crossed for a waiting striker to stroke home, unchallenged.
The home side immediately pressed from the restart and were back in front when Gilsenan broke the high line and calmly slotted past the onrushing keeper to restore Bororas advantage.

The home side began to control the game with the McGovern and Delaney bossing things in the middle and the ever impressive Rogan and Gilsenan causing real problems for the Duleek defence.
Borora finally extended their advantage and looked to kill the game when Komorowski played a superb through ball for the lightning fast Rogan to rush in to before rounding the keeper and sliding the ball into the empty net. Borora were now firmly in charge and were unlucky not to extend the lead even further when Murray found himself unmarked in the middle and poked the ball home, only for the ref to blow for what looked to be a very dubious offside.

The clock ran down with Borora looking comfortable and the ref finally blew for full time with a very much deserved home win.
McGovern, Delaney, Rogan and Gilsenan were impressive for Borora along with Murray who really should have capped a great game with a goal, only to be on the wrong side of an unfortunate decision.
