Borora Jubiore 6-1 Parkvilla FC
Borora Juniors belatedly began their season in Moynalty on Tuesday evening with an emphatic win and performance versus the visitors Parkvilla FC. The opening exchanges were tentative as both sides began nervously. The left side was proving fruitful for the hosts as Calum Mitchel and Byron Wearon began to cause chaos in the home defence. One superb cross into the box from Mitchel was deflected past the stranded visiting keeper to give Borora the win.
Borora pushed on again as Cathal Walsh began to dominate the midfield with his partner Lichlann O’Reilly ably assisting him. A through ball into Eanna Bennett was laid off into the path of Mitchell to dispatch past the keeper to double Bororas lead. A free kick on the left flank was sent under the jumping wall into the bottom corner to give the hosts some breathing space ahead of halftime. 3-0
The second half began with more home pressure as Luke Quinn, Adam O’Brien, Daniel Stafford and Matt Moriarty holding firm at the back restricting the visitors to half chances. A defensive mix up left Bennett with a tap in for his second and Borora’s fourth goal. Parkvilla kept pushing and got their reward with a well taken goal to reduce the deficit.
Jack Shalvey and the Sheridan brothers Keelan and Oisin were racing up and down the right wing to great effect. Dean Williams was into the midfield battle and began helping push the visitors backwards. Bennett then slid in a quick pass to Shalvey for a fifth goal before Bennett tapped in for his first hat trick of the season. There was still time for Joseph McGarry to test the visitors keeper as Borora emptied the bench with Liam Brady and Mikey Smith playing out the last minutes of the game. An empathic win for the Borora boys .
