Borora Juniors 4-1 Dunshaughlin Youths
Borora Juniors and Dunshaughlin Youths served up a feast of football an a fabulous sunny Saturday morning in Moynalty. The home team started well and created plenty of chances to score. The game was scoreless until the twenty minute mark when some fantastic passing from Dean WillIams , Caoimhín Cussen and Sean Behan created the opening for Eanna Bennett to open the scoring for Borora. The visitors rallied and soon after equalised from a seemingly offside position to level the scores before halftime. 1-1 halftime score
The home team settled down for the second half and soon began to turn the screw on the visitors and ten minutes in Eanna Bennett got his team’s second goal to put Borora ahead again. Diarmuid O’Malley was putting the visitors defence under all sorts of pressure and should have scored Borora’s third but for a fantastic save from the visitors keeper. Adam O’Brien , Daniel Stafford and Mikey Smith were defending like their lives depended on it with Luke Quinn screening in front keeping the ball out from Leo Fitzgerald who was calmness personified when called upon to win the high ball in from the visitors.
David Daly played outfield today and was flying up and down the left wing all day and it was his pass that set up Bennett for his hat-trick . 3-0’to the home team. Dovydas Glassas and Jack Kavanagh were sprung off the bench to add some calmness and strengthen the midfield. Ten minutes from time Glassas went down the right wing passing several defenders and put in an inch perfect pass for Bennett to get his and the team’s fourth goal to round up the game and sent Borora into the next round of the cup.
