And so it begins. The Borora Jnrs U12s took their first step into a season of competitive soccer on Saturday morning in a match against Trim Celtic.
Both sides had the bare nine so both coaches could leave their 'tactical substitution strategy' clipboards at home. 
Borora were quickly into their stride with the redheaded spine of the team (Finn, Labhrai and Daniel) controlling possession. Callum and Sean on the wings were starting to see plenty of the ball as the game opened up, helped by Joey Lynch's clever touches and layoffs in the centre forward role. Meanwhile, at the back Odhran, Justin and Bobby were the personification of calm, even if Bobby's audacious back flicks did raise the coaches' collective blood pressure a tad.
So it was no surprise when Callum opened the scoring after a pass from Finn. 
The second goal was really well worked. Labhrai played a 1-2 with Daniel, got the ball back and shot past the keeper. Joey got the third to leave Borora well in charge. Trim got one back before the end but a
.. but a 3-1 win was a well-deserved win and a great start to the league campaign. 
Special mention to man-of-the+match Justin who didn't put a foot wrong all game.
